Camping Supplies
If you are going camping then you better know what supplies you should bring. Nothing is more frustrating then getting to camp and realizing you forgot something important. Improvising for forgotten toilet paper can end badly. You should make a list of what supplies you should bring. The following information should give you a good idea of what you should take on your camping trip.
Cooking supplies and accessories are a must. You should bring good quality cookware that can be used over an open fire. You should also not forget plates, bowls, silverware, including cooking spoons and spatulas and cups. You should also bring a table if one will not be provided at the camp site. Do not forget a cooler also.
You should also bring extra lighting. Even if the camp grounds is well lit you may need a lantern for inside the tent or to take with you if you must walk to the restrooms.
A first aid kit is also a must have. People tend to get hurt in the out of doors more than usual. Sticks, bug and other hazards are always lurking around. You should include antiseptic wipes, bandages and gauze in your kit. A basic first aid kit bought ready made form a store would work great. You should always restock your kit after using.
Your tent and sleeping bags may seem like obvious needs but many people have been known to forget them, Make sure they are on your list. Also check to make sure all tent pieces are there and sleeping bags are free from hiding bugs and insects.
You may also want to bring board games or cards. Some form of entertainment might be welcomed especially if you have children. Remember there is no television to watch. The company of friends and family may be enough, but it is always better to have something to fall back on.
If you are camping in the heat of summer you may also want to stock some battery operated fans to keep you cool.
Some other basics you do not want to forget are water and food. Like tents and sleeping bags this may seem obvious, but if you are camping miles away from civilization and forget food and water you will not be a happy camper.
These basics things are just a sample of what you can bring on a camping trip. It all depends on your needs and desires. You should make a simple checklist before packing to make sure you do not forget anything. You may also want to make notes after your trip about other things you wish you had brought so next time you remember to bring them.
